There’s just one gun control bill left in the 2024 legislative session.
We’ve killed bans on AR-15s, standard capacity magazines, preemption repeal, mental health tests on gun owners, “safe” storage, mandatory lost & stolen reporting, and so much more.
There’s just ONE BILL LEFT TO KILL.
With your help, let’s TAKE ACTION TODAY to stop HF 2609.
What is HF 2609?
What it does
- Redefines a “binary trigger” as a machine gun in state law. Possession of a binary trigger would trigger a 20 year state felony crime.
- Current owners would have to do one of the following by January 1st, 2025 if they possess a binary trigger:
- Destroy it
- Sell it out of state
- Move it out of state
- Turn it in to law enforcement
- There is no grandfathering and no compensation for the property.
- The bill also increases the penalty for “straw purchasing” in state law and requires a report from the BCA on gun trafficking investigations.
