Due to weapons screening requirements, we recommend arriving no later than 11:00 AM.

Over the past several years, Minnesota gun owners have faced relentless attacks from anti-gun politicians and well-funded national advocacy groups. With the help of out-of-state money from organizations like Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action, the Minnesota Legislature has repeatedly pushed unconstitutional gun control targeting peaceable, law-abiding citizens.

And the pressure hasn’t stopped.

Already this legislative session, anti-gun lawmakers have pushed forward sweeping gun control proposals — including broad bans on commonly owned semi-automatic rifles, bans on standard-capacity magazines, and repeal of Minnesota’s statewide firearm preemption law. These extreme proposals have already received hearings at the Capitol.

These policies don’t target criminals.

They target you.

But Minnesota gun owners have also been fighting back — and winning.

From grassroots organizing to major legal victories like Worth v. Jacobson, which restored the right of 18- to 20-year-old adults to obtain a permit to carry, the fight for the Second Amendment in Minnesota is far from over — and momentum is on our side. 

Now is the time to keep the pressure on.

We must continue working to stop unconstitutional gun control in its tracks while advancing pro-Second Amendment reforms that protect the rights of peaceable Minnesotans.

We scheduled the rally on a Saturday so that people who work during the week can attend — and we’re meeting indoors in the Capitol Rotunda so weather won’t stand in our way.

Important Notes

You may carry a handgun at the State Capitol Complex if you have a valid Minnesota Permit to Carry.

• Long gun carry inside buildings is prohibited by statute
• We recommend carrying concealed
• Allow time for weapons screening.  Simply tell the security staff you are carrying a firearm with a permit
• Flag poles and signs on sticks are prohibited
• Hand-held signs and flags are welcome
