A quick update on the situation with Apple Valley that we alerted you about earlier today.
Throughout the day, as pressure mounted on Apple Valley, their Mayor, and their City Council, we saw updates to the proposed ordinance uploaded to their website.
By late morning, they had completely removed the proposed ordinance from the website – making the link that we had shared earlier today return an error.
Late in the afternoon, the city finally responded to our communication from a month ago and let us know that they were removing the ordinance from consideration from tomorrow’s meeting!
They also told us that they “fully intended to comply with state law” – and that their city attorney would be in touch with us “next week” to discuss their proposed ordinance changes further.
For right now, it appears that the ordinance is off the table for the time being.
We’ll continue to monitor the situation and will keep you up to date.
In the video below, SVP of Government Affairs Rob Doar provides a more detailed update with additional context on what transpired today.
PRESSURE WORKS. Thanks for picking up the phone, sending emails, and putting pressure on the Apple Valley City Council.
Now let’s get back to pushing the Minnesota legislature to pass Stand Your Ground and Constitutional Carry.
