The three first days of the 2024 Legislative Session have seen the introduction of extreme, far-reaching, and unconstitutional gun control bills by the metro DFL majority including a complete ban on nearly all semi-automatic rifles, a ban on standard capacity magazines, and the elimination of firearms preemption laws.
“The metro-centric DFL majorities are pushing bills that ban the possession, sale, and transfer of commonly-owned firearms and accessories used across the state for hunting, sport, competition, and self-defense,” said Bryan Strawser, Chairman of the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus. “In doing so, the DFL is demonstrating that they do not value or respect Minnesota’s Second Amendment traditions.”
Rob Doar, Senior Vice President of Government Relations continued: “The bills anti-gun legislators are pushing are identical to laws that courts around the country are striking down. We will remain steadfast in defending Minnesota’s peaceable gun owners and will take the fight to court if necessary.”
