Last night, GOP Senator Justin Eichorn was arrested and accused of solicitation of a minor in Bloomington, Minnesota. The allegations against him are deeply troubling and raise serious concerns about his ability to serve in public office.
“Senator Eichorn holds a position of public trust, and these allegations severely damage that trust,” said Bryan Strawser, Chair of the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus. “Given the gravity of the accusations, he should resign immediately. If he refuses, the Minnesota Senate must take steps to remove him.”
“While Senator Eichorn, like anyone, is entitled to the presumption of innocence, the nature of these allegations creates a serious distraction from the critical public safety issues facing the Minnesota Senate,” added Rob Doar, Senior Vice President, Government Relations. “With key legislation on crime, law enforcement, and gun rights on the table, Minnesotans deserve lawmakers who can fully focus on their responsibilities without the burden of such serious accusations.”
