Yesterday, the Minnesota Senate, on a party-line vote, passed a 522-page omnibus public safety bill containing red-flag gun confiscation and universal gun registration.
The Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus responded with determination:
“We commend the work of our members in applying political pressure that diluted the most oppressive aspects of the gun control bills introduced this session, but some DFL Senators in swing districts still betrayed their constituents with today’s vote, ” stated Bryan Strawser, Chairman of the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus. “Today’s vote carries electoral consequences, especially for Democrat senators who deceived voters with false promises on these bills. We will ensure their constituents know of this betrayal in 2026.”
Rob Doar, Senior Vice President, added, “Sadly, like in other states, Minnesota’s new laws will only burden lawful gun owners without reducing firearm crimes or suicide rates. This bill will face bipartisan opposition in the Minnesota House. The fight is just beginning, and the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus will continue to focus on real solutions to violence in our communities while working to protect and restore the constitutional rights of all Minnesotans.”
