Federal Laws
Federal law generally defines very broad prohibitions and statutory restrictions on the ownership, purchasing, possession, and transportation of firearms across the country. In addition, federal law contains the restrictions on the ownership of automatic firearms (machine guns), suppressors, and short-barreled rifles and shotguns.
