Same Script, Different Bill: Lawmaker Pushes Gun Control Again
🚨 Last Friday’s Senate hearing tells you everything.

We were told there wasn’t time for our testimony.

Chair (Sen.) Latz claimed they “prioritized individuals over organizations.”

Then the committee turned around and allowed organizations to testify in favor of semi-auto and magazine bans, while blocking any organizations from testifying against it.

That’s not a scheduling issue—it’s a choice.

Watch what actually happened 👇

They Let Anti-Gun Groups Speak, But Blocked Pro-Gun Organizations [MN Senate, 3/13/2026]
HF 4081:
❌ Ban semi-automatic rifles
❌ Ban standard capacity magazines

That’s the bill.

This hearing was in House Judiciary & Civil Law—so testimony was limited to data privacy provisions.

But as Anna Leamy made clear, HF 4081 still imposes sweeping prohibitions on commonly owned firearms owned by law-abiding Minnesotans.

We oppose it—full stop.

🚨 Minnesota wants to disarm the people schools already trust with SF 3572

SF 3572:
❌ Ends principal-approved carry
❌ Disarms trained, background-checked adults
❌ Removes local control
❌ Requires specific storage when you must disarm

The bill passed the Senate Education Policy Committee on a party-line vote and is now pending before the Senate Finance Committee

Anna Leamy breaks it down in her testimony⬇️

🚨 TESTIMONY: SF 3661 (the "Ghost Gun" ban) targets you, not criminals.

Our Director of Government Relations Anna Leamy breaks it down in testimony to Senate Judiciary & Public Safety earlier this week:
• Turns legal firearm owners into felons
• Bans long-lawful homebuilt firearms
• Criminalizes sharing design files (yes, speech)

This bill is as unconstitutional as it is misguided.

The bill passed committee on a party line vote and is now pending on the Senate Floor.

Testimony Against SF 3661: How Minnesota’s “Ghost Gun” Bill Criminalizes Law-Abiding Citizens
🚨 Mega Gun Control Hearing Recap

On Friday the 13th, the Minnesota Senate Judiciary & Public Safety Committee held a 7.5 hour “mega hearing” on many gun control bills

Several major gun control proposals advanced, including:
• Creating a new Office of Gun Violence Prevention
• A $1M grant to the Violence Prevention Project (who advocate for gun control)
• A partial repeal of firearm preemption
• A bill ending school carry permission
• A retroactive binary trigger ban

The semi-automatic rifle & magazine ban (SF 3655) also passed committee and now heads to Senate Finance.

In this video we walk through:
✔ What happened in the hearing
✔ Vote totals for each bill
✔ Which bills advanced and where they go next

Testimonials

Dave O’Brien

“There is no one who works harder to protect Minnesota’s legal firearm owners than the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus. When it comes to community events, down to the grueling daily work at the State Capitol, I feel my monthly contributions as a Second Amendment Defender are helping to make a true difference, especially at the State House, where it is the agenda of so many to try and strip us of our fundamental right to Keep and Bear Arms.”

Scott C.

“I’ve been a member of the Gun Owners Caucus from its beginning.

It has matured into a formidable lobbying organization doing serious and effective work on behalf of the law-abiding gun owners of Minnesota.”

Bruce G.

“Some 2nd Amendment supporters get taken in by ‘gun rights’ charlatans who huff and puff for the camera, but don’t know one darned thing about crafting legislation, successful lobbying, and civil legal action.

The Caucus is the real deal, and are respected in the State Capitol for their professionalism, their non-partisanship, and for their effectiveness!”
