The Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus leadership team manages the organization from day to day, ensuring that we achieve our mission of serving as the trusted voice of Minnesota’s Gun Owners to defend and restore the right to keep and bear arms in Minnesota.
Bryan Strawser, Chairman
Bryan Strawser is Chairman of the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus, leading the organization’s governance and strategic direction. He also serves in the same capacity for the Minnesota Gun Owners Political Action Committee and the Minnesota Gun Owners Law Center.
A globally recognized consultant in crisis management, business continuity, and resilience, Bryan has over twenty-five years of experience as a business, crisis, and resilience leader. He is the Principal and Chief Executive of a Minneapolis-based strategic advisory firm.
Bryan is an NRA-certified firearms instructor in multiple disciplines and a Minnesota Permit to Carry instructor.
He holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice Administration from the University of Phoenix, an MBA from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, and a Master of Arts in International Relations & Contemporary War from King’s College London, where he also earned the Associateship of King’s College (AKC). He is a graduate of the Senior Executive Leadership Program at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and the National Preparedness Leadership Initiative at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
He is currently pursuing a PhD in Management and Public Service at Hamline University.
Bryan is a former Humphrey Policy Fellow at the University of Minnesota and a past Senior Fellow at the Center for Cyber and Homeland Security at Auburn University. His policy focus has included public–private national security and cybersecurity collaboration.
In 2023, Bryan was named Grassroots Activist of the Year by the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. In 2025, he was elected as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Second Amendment Foundation and received the Defender of Liberty award.
Rob Doar, President, MN Gun Owners Law Center & General Counsel, MN Gun Owners Caucus
Rob Doar is the President of the Minnesota Gun Owners Law Center and the General Counsel for the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus. He is a dedicated advocate for the constitutional rights of Minnesotans. He was honored with the 2024 Defender of Liberty Award from the Second Amendment Foundation.
With more than sixteen years of experience at the Minnesota State Capitol as both a volunteer and professional lobbyist, Rob has worked tirelessly on behalf of the state’s peaceable gun owners. He has contributed to amicus briefs in state courts, federal courts, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Rob earned his J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Bemidji State University, and an A.S. in Law Enforcement along with a Certificate in Public Safety Leadership from Century College. He is also a POST Skills graduate from Hennepin Technical College.
Outside of his legal and policy work, Rob serves as a volunteer EMT and Search and Rescue Incident Commander. He also dedicates time each week to representing indigent clients in Minnesota’s criminal courts, ensuring access to justice for those who cannot afford counsel. When not working, Rob can often be found with a book in hand or exploring the outdoors.
Nick Majerus, Manager, Communications
Nick Majerus is the Manager, Communications for the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus. In this role, Mr. Majerus is responsible for communications, public relations, social media, and outreach strategies for the Caucus.
Nick was previously the Director of Communications for the Republican Party of Minnesota. He has previously served as a communications specialist and committee legislative assistant for the Minnesota House & Senate.
Nick has a Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Minnesota.
