Membership and billing questions

How to check your membership, update your card, cancel, and give by check or from an IRA.

After you join

I joined, but I never created an account. Did it work?

Yes. There’s no website login or username to set up. Your membership is tied to the email address you used at checkout. Within a few minutes you should get two emails: a receipt from Stripe, our payment processor, and a welcome email from us. If you don’t see them, check your spam or promotions folder.

I paid with Apple Pay or Google Pay and never typed my email. How do you know who I am?

Apple Pay and Google Pay pass along the email address on your wallet account, and your receipt and welcome email go there. If that isn’t the address you check, contact us and we’ll update it.

How do I check that I’m a member, or when my membership renews?

Open Manage Account and enter the email you joined with. Stripe sends you a one-time sign-in link. You’ll see your membership level, your next renewal date, and your past receipts.

Manage Account says it can’t find me.

You probably joined with a different email address, or you joined by check or at an event. Contact us with your name and the email addresses you might have used, and we’ll look you up.

What do I get as a member?

Your dues keep us at the Capitol every day of session, organizing gun owners across the state, and holding local governments to Minnesota’s preemption law. Members also get discounts from Minnesota instructors, shops, ranges, and businesses.

Membership levels

What’s the difference between annual, Life, and Second Amendment Defender?

Each one is a full Caucus membership. You only need one.

  • Annual: paid once a year, and it renews automatically.
  • Life: paid once, and it never renews.
  • Second Amendment Defender: paid monthly, from $10 a month.

See current prices on the Join page.

I signed up for two memberships by mistake.

You can cancel either one in Manage Account. If you joined under two different email addresses, or you’d like a refund for the one you’re dropping, contact us and we’ll take care of it.

I’ve been giving monthly for years. Am I a member?

Yes. Every Second Amendment Defender is a full Caucus member, and you don’t need to join separately. If you’re not sure your monthly gift is set up as a Defender subscription, check Manage Account or contact us.

Changing or canceling

How do I update my card, change my level, or renew?

Sign in to Manage Account with the email you joined with. You can replace your card, switch levels, and see when you’ll next be charged.

Never send us your card number by email. We will never ask for it. Manage Account is secure and handled by Stripe.

How do I cancel?

Sign in to Manage Account and choose Cancel. You stay a member through the end of the period you’ve already paid for. If you can’t sign in, contact us with your name, the email you joined with, and the last four digits of the card, and we’ll cancel it for you.

How do I change my email address?

Contact us from your old address if you still can, or include both your old and new addresses. We’ll update your membership and our email list together.

A family member who was a member has died. How do we stop the payments?

We’re sorry for your loss. Contact us with their name and email address, or the last four digits of the card, and we’ll cancel the membership and remove them from our mailings.

I moved out of Minnesota.

You’re welcome to stay a member, since many Minnesotans who’ve moved away still back the fight here. If you’d rather stop, cancel in Manage Account.

Taxes, checks, and IRA gifts

Is my membership or donation tax-deductible?

Membership dues and donations to the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions. The Caucus is a 501(c)(4), which allows it to lobby and take part in elections.

Gifts to the MN Gun Owners Law Center (legally the Minnesota Gun Owners Support Fund) may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. The Law Center is a 501(c)(3) that funds our lawsuits and amicus briefs. Give to the Law Center.

What are your EINs?

  • Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus, 501(c)(4): 47-4639338
  • Minnesota Gun Owners Support Fund (MN Gun Owners Law Center), 501(c)(3): 81-2511596

Can I give from my IRA (a required minimum distribution or QCD)?

Yes, to the Law Center. A qualified charitable distribution has to go to a 501(c)(3), so ask your IRA custodian to send it to:

Minnesota Gun Owners Support Fund
EIN 81-2511596
PO Box 131718
Saint Paul, MN 55113

The Caucus is a 501(c)(4) and can’t receive a QCD. Let us know when you’ve sent it so we can watch for it and thank you.

Can I pay by check?

Yes, though we’d prefer you join online: it’s faster, it confirms your membership right away, and it lets you manage renewals yourself in Manage Account.

To pay by check, make it payable to Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus for membership or Capitol work, or to Minnesota Gun Owners Support Fund for the Law Center. Mail it to PO Box 131718, Saint Paul, MN 55113. For a membership, include a note with your name, email address, and the level you’re joining at, so we can record it and confirm it with you.

Emails and staying in touch

How do I sign up for, or stop, your emails?

Sign up for action alerts on our Take Action page, then click the confirmation link we email you. To stop, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email. Unsubscribing from emails does not cancel a membership.

Can I add a friend to your list?

We can only email people who sign up themselves. Forward them one of our emails, or send them to gunowners.mn/take-action.

Is there a place to talk with other Minnesota gun owners?

Yes. Join our MN Gun Owners Facebook group to connect with other Minnesota gun owners. You can also follow the Caucus on Facebook, X, and YouTube.
