Stop the Semi-Auto Gun Ban!

Senator Jen McEwen (DFL – Duluth) has introduced SF1596 – a ban on nearly all semi-automatic firearms in Minnesota.

Her bill, if passed and signed into law by Governor Walz, would prohibit ANY sale or transfer of almost every semi-automatic rifle, many semi-automatic shotguns, and even some semi-automatic pistols.

It would have the effect of:

  • Preventing you from buying any firearm that fit those criteria
  • Preventing you from selling or gifting any firearm that fit those criteria

When you died, any firearm meeting this description would need to be destroyed, rendered inoperable, or turned over to law enforcement.

Governor Walz has previously supported bans on semi-automatic rifles – there is no doubt in our minds that he would sign such a bill.

We need you to tell your Representative & Senator that you demand they OPPOSE any gun control efforts in the State of Minnesota by signing our petition TODAY.

Stop the DFL Gun Ban Petition

TO THE MEMBERS OF THE MINNESOTA LEGISLATURE:

  • Whereas, the anti-gun movement, led by state groups like Protect Minnesota and Michael Bloomberg’s out-of-state-funded Everytown, is attempting to take advantage of recent tragedies to drive home their agenda of gun control
  • Whereas, Governor Tim Walz has previously supported a ban on semi-automatic rifles.
  • Whereas, last session, anti-gun Senators like John Marty and Jen McEwen and Representatives like Leigh Finke and Maria Isa Prez-Vega are calling for a ban on commonly owned firearms in Minnesota
Whereas, this session, Senator Jen McEwen has introduced yet another ban on many commonly owned firearms in Minnesota
  • Whereas, DFL House & Senate leadership have stated that gun control is a top legislative priority
  • Whereas, all gun control measures are unconstitutional and a violation of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution

THEREFORE, AS A LAW-ABIDING GUN OWNER AND SUPPORTER OF THE SECOND AMENDMENT, I CALL UPON ALL MEMBERS OF THE MINNESOTA LEGISLATURE TO OPPOSE THE BAN ON SEMI-AUTOMATIC FIREARMS
